Jessica Hart Steinmann Announces Run for Congress
Jessica Hart Steinmann, America First Conservative, Donald J. Trump and Ted Cruz Alum, Launches Campaign for Congress in Texas’s 8th Congressional District
Montgomery, TX – Jessica Hart Steinmann, an America First conservative, President Trump and Ted Cruz alum, Christian, and proud wife and mother of two, announced her candidacy today for Congress in Texas’s 8th Congressional District.
Steinmann enters the race as a constitutional lawyer, grassroots leader, and proven fighter for President Trump’s agenda. Steinmann's announcement comes after the 8th district’s current congressman, Rep. Morgan Luttrell, announced he would not seek reelection after his courageous service to our country in the military and in Congress.
Steinmann led the charge in conservative fights her whole career. She served in President Trump’s Department of Justice, where she led efforts to combat human trafficking and support crime victims as the Director for the Office of Victims of Crime. She oversaw nearly $9 billion and awarded over $2.5 billion in 2020 funding that helped crime victims and provided the largest federal funding to combat domestic human trafficking.
After serving in the Trump Administration, Steinmann fought for the America First movement as Executive General Counsel at the America First Policy Institute, taking on the radical Left in court and defending the Constitution every day. She fought and led on keeping boys out of girls’ sports, protecting our children from woke ideology, defending our military, and securing our elections.
She also stood in the gap and defended President Trump as he experienced unprecedented lawfare attacks from the Left. Steinmann sued Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over his coordinated attacks against the President and defended the President’s legal rights all the way up to the Supreme Court.
Before her work in the Trump Administration, Steinmann served in the office of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, helping the Senator's fight for Texans and the conservative agenda in Washington.
In Texas, Steinmann helped draft the state’s landmark election integrity law that became national news when Texas Democrats fled the state in protest. She also led Republican women’s groups and earned President Trump’s endorsement as the sole Texas Committeewoman on the RNC Platform Committee. Her record shows she is a proven conservative leader who knows how to get things done.
“This campaign is about protecting our Texas values, protecting our children, and advancing the America First agenda with President Trump,” said Steinmann. “As a mother of two, this fight is personal. Just like I have my entire career, I will fight to keep our border secure, support our military, cut reckless spending, protect our religious liberty, and stand strong for families and freedom. I’m not new to standing with the President and defending what Texans hold dear in Washington, and I’m ready to get to work.”
Steinmann and her husband Brandon, a Conroe native and the elected Montgomery County Clerk, live in Montgomery County with their two sons. She was born and went to high school just outside the district in Harris County. Steinmann serves on numerous local county and nonprofit boards in our community, including previously serving as the President of The Woodlands Republican Women, on the Montgomery County Child Welfare Board, and is also a member of Conroe Noon Lions Club, The Woodlands Rotary, and Federalist Society.
She promises to be an America First conservative for the people of the 8th Congressional District who will work tirelessly to protect Texas families and help President Trump finish the job.
“My pledge is direct, like most Texans,” she said. “I am a proven America First leader who will stand with President Trump to make America great again. I have a record of winning conservative fights, and that’s what I’ll do in Congress.”
